Thanks to our Union’s partnership with Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, Teamsters have the opportunity to earn a Labor Studies Degree or Certificate at Teamsters Local 1932 Union Hall in San Bernardino. Our next course is Labor in the Public Sector (Labor Studies 11):

Southern California hasa huge public sector workforce in education, law enforcement, healthcare and more, most covered under collective bargaining agreements.

LS 11 is an overview of labor issues in the public sector including the legal framework of public employment, civil service and tenure systems, and how public sector unions can operate effectively, defend and protect members and build power.

Constitutional Issues such as Agency Shop
Mediation, Fact-Finding & Strikes
Impact of Politics on Public Sector Unions

Class starts on February 7th and occurs every Wednesday, 6:00 – 9:10 PM, until May 30th.
